I thought he would do well at UF. Def a bummer

I still think Elksnis, if he can get healthy, has a chance to make a mark. He is probably miscast in Napier’s offense, where tight ends are basically extra linemen and not really seen as pass catchers

This year in 10 games Florida tight ends have combined for 23 catches.

Last year at ULL in 14 games, nine tights on the roster (I don’t know the scholarship/walk-on split) caught 42 passes.

That means in the last two years tight ends have caught a combined 65 passes in 24 games – or under three catches per game – despite playing 12 personnel (two tight ends) most of the time.

This one sucks big time. His family is a big time Gator group.

I remember the story about his grandma being so happy when he committed because she used to take him to games when he was little.

I wish this one would have worked out.

Florida TE catches over the last decade

      2022 10-24 (12 personnel mostly)
      2021 13-42
2019 12-64 (Pitts lined up all over)
      2018 13-60
      2017 13-34 (C’Yontia Lewis starting)
      2016 11-38
      2015 13-57
2014 12-28 (Westbrook was the starter)
      2013 12-46
2012 13-90 (Had NFL TE’s Reed and Burton on the team)

We need to get back to where we had TE like Hernandez, Reed, Burton, Kinney and Troupe.

We’ve had one good TE in the last 7 or 8 years.
