Adds that he’s proud of the players for responding to adversity, but adds that the film and execution wasn’t clear, echoing his statements from Monday.

On penalties: “We had four undisciplined penalties.” Adds that there were a few more on defense as well as the three on special teams, which is something that needs to improve. Explained that not all penalties are on the player who committed it (said a holding penalty on Nay’Quan Wright was actually on Anthony Richardson for not working in the pocket).

On winning one-possession games: “Independent of the score, each game is an opportunity to compete.”
Said winning those games comes down to confidence, preparation, trust between players and coaches (composure).
“A lot of it is poise by the staff, poise by the players.”

On how he decompresses after a close win: “I don’t know if you have time to decompress.”
Said that he spends time with his family after the game, but usually at 2:30 on Sunday, they turn the page to next week.

On practice: Said the team has had very good practices but hasn’t had a perfect one.
“Our players and coaches are well-aware of that.”
Said that the team will always be a work-in-progress no matter their record or their opponent.

On Will Levis: “There’s no secret here that Kentucky’s got one of the best quarterbacks in the country.”
Said he’s a 1st round talent with his size, speed and athleticism, and Kentucky’s offensive system allows him to play to his strengths.

On Trey Dean III: “Trey’s played a lot of football at Florida. This being his final run at it, I think Trey came back to improve as a player.”
Said he’s been very intentional about improving on tackling in the offseason, which showed in the game.
