On Gervon Dexter Sr.: Napier says that despite Dexter being in his third year, Napier considers him inexperienced due to the “volume of snaps played.” Dexter split time with guys such as Antonio Valentino, Daquon Newkirk, Marlon Dunlap and Kyree Campbell his first two years.

Says he’s getting better each week

On the Missouri pass rush: “The’ve got a really good front. Unique players inside and out on the edges.”

Says the length on the edge is a factor and they do a good job rotating the interior defenders.

Adds they have depth which always helps

Napier said that there’s a few reasons why a team may give up big plays (alignment, execution or the offense simply having a better gameplan). Napier said that for his team, it’s a lot to do with alignment and assignment execution.

On the buy-in of the team in year one: Said he’s pleased with the buy-in overall. Explained that they had a few pro scouts at practice, who complimented Napier after for the practice environment and focus of the players.

Reporter (paraphrase): “Missouri must be a dangerous team with how they’ve played the last two weeks.”

                    Napier: “Is that a question?”

Napier reiterates that they have a ton of respect for their program and how they’ve played in recent games.

On Richie Leonard IV and the offensive line: Napier said that that group specifically is a developmental group focused on improving fundamentals and communication. Said that at Louisiana, they took pride in having one of the top offensive lines in the country, and their looking to replicate that.

On Leonard IV: Said that he may not have all the size, but he’s a smart player and works hard and has nice intangibles.

Napier is done. Next up: Missouri HC Eliah Drinkwitz at 12:20.

Napier and players will be meeting with the media tonight beginning at 6:30
