ITG SubscriberWhere is the list of recruits that are visiting us this weekend? It’s supposed to be up on Friday.
Do you think we are going to get any more commits during the season? I thought Johnson would flip to us by now.

Forum OwnerThey aren’t really expecting to host anyone of significance on a Sunday at noon. Commits Mizell and Castell have tweeted out that they will be there.
As for new commits, maybe someone will fall during the LSU visit weekend.
Johnson decommitted from OSU with the intention of committing, but it hasn’t happened yet. That’s recruiting for you. He’s been on campus a couple of times though.

ITG Subscriber’25 QB Hurley is coming. If he’s going to be there you think that Webb will be.

ITG SubscriberDoes the new staff not like bringing in official vistitors for games?
Have we had any official visitors this year since the summer?

ITG SubscriberThe advantage of that strategy is that
1. It’s a night game.
2. The stadium will be packed.
3. The atmosphere is going to be insane
4. It’s homecoming
5. You group high end recruits with other high end recruits so they can bond and enjoy the atmosphere together. It’s a smart move and strategy

ITG SubscriberBringing a bunch of big names in for a game after a hurricane with 30,000 people wouldn’t have been effective for showing the atmosphere. Staff taking that week off was smart. Besides, kids from the southern half of the state might have had hurricane cleanup/damage

How would you have known in advance that this would be a night game?2. The stadium will be packed.

4. It’s homecoming
OK, maybe some advantage, but I’m sure also disadvantages as well for an official visit.

OK, I agree.
But the point is the decision to limit official visits to the LSU game or in December was apparently made well in advance.
How would one know there would be a hurricane for the week before the Eastern Washington game?
Turn it around, and what if there’s a hurricane for the weekend of the LSU game?
The recruit would then have to reschedule, and again it may be difficult this late in the year. It’s a smart move and strategy
This may be so, but none of the arguments presented so far have convinced me.

ITG SubscriberDrum. Maybe you haven’t been involved or seen first hand what transpires during these weekends.
It was announced 2 weeks ago that it was a night game vs a noon kickoff against Washington?? Are you trying to compare? You want the staff to waste effort and resources on an environment that would fall flat. At the hurricane contingency. We were lucky we didn’t do much last weekend- from a game day environment perspective- it sucked.
Next, this LSU game has been sold out for over a month. A lot of recruits already have desired to attend this game. The hype is there. Further, the staff intended from onset to make this a recruiting weekend.
Enough said right there. They planned it this way it’s an easy sell. Too bad you take issue with it. But this game was circled a long time ago.
It’s going to be a great weekend and the fact that it’s a 7pm start is just a bonus. More time for the recruits to spend on a game day Enviornment. CBN’s recruiting staff will be bringing their A-game

ITG SubscriberI clearly don’t have his way of thinking to give you the perfect answer but I would imagine you can focus on more important players by limiting visitors. Easier to let 15 players for example know they are a priority versus 30 getting half the attention.

I can tell you that CBN works and spends time with each recruit. Clearly he prioritizes them but I’ve seen him to what looks like making a point to interact with them. Keep in mind that he is not the primary recruiter. But this is a complete 180 from Mullen. Mullen wasn’t really a social guy. CBN is. He knows these kids. Knows their background. I don’t know if he has a spotter whispering in his ear but it’s interesting to see.
My biggest takeaway is that I haven’t heard one negative thing about how a recruit was ignored or they were left to fend for themselves like in the past. I watched it happen in the past. There really is an attention to detail with what they are doing right now.

ITG SubscriberYes, everything is speculation.
I’m wondering if Georgia does the same, in which case Katie Turner coming from Georgia would have implemented the same policy.
Or maybe Saban does the same?
After now looking at the schedule, the only thing I can think of is there is a bye after the LSU game.
I can imagine that the coaches’ time is limited during a weekend with a game scheduled and with LSU, they can at least have Sunday to spend with recruits on an official visit since there is no game the following weekend?
