A couple of observations after No. 25 Missouri dismantled No. 8 Florida

I wanted to add a few comments here. There are a lot of good points being made by people here. His deep ball seems to come up short occasionally, but compared to Mertz, it at least seems to be somewhat accurate. Recall that Danny Wueffel did not have a very strong arm, and yet the Gators did...

    🏈 Football Recruiting Ticker Updated 2028 Rivals300

Florida's lone commit is Armani Strong. Is this who you are referring to? If you had bothered to look at the list in the link, you would have noticed he is not listed in Rival's top 300 recruits.

    Sumrall's Most Important Hire

Good observation (I calculate 303.5 lbs average on the two-deep depth chart). But how much is enough? I would image the preferred weight depends on type of offense/blocking scheme they will be using, so I would trust the coaching staff to know the ideal target weight they want. Let's see what...

    Sumrall's Most Important Hire

I found some more videos of interviews with Rusty Whitt over the last couple of years. I think the guy is the real deal. It sounds like his program (and Sumrall's) is all about getting the players prepared for game day - physically and more importantly mentally. These are somewhat long videos...

We have the 12th most talent

You bring up a very good point. Total team talent, however you rank it, can be misleading. It tells you nothing about how that talent is distributed along the roster and position groups. You can also have a very good QB and poor OL that can't give the QB enough time to throw the ball.

We have the 12th most talent

Right, from amongst the teams on Florida's schedule. They're 7th in the SEC (from their "internal" rankings), and 6th based on "Composite" rankings - whatever that means.

    2027 Football Recruiting

I took a scroll through the top 1000 HS players ranked in the 2027 class by On3 (Rivals?) to count the number of uncommitted prospects (23). Interesting that one of them (Tranard Roberts) is predicted to commit to Florida. I am wondering what is pushing so many prospects to commit so early? I...

    DJ Lagway Article

If I recall, the same "scouts" you may be referring to also were not high on Graham Mertz when he transferred. If I recall, he was drafted in the NFL, sixth round?

    DJ Lagway Article

Easy to fix - just don't read any articles about him. Will you be comparing to his first year with Napier or the second? Lagway was in a difficult position the second year. With all his injuries, he should have probably been redshirted. So his performance this year really should have impact on...

    DJ Lagway Article

Back on track? How DJ Lagway is bringing hope and a family legacy back to Baylor Interesting quote in the article: I know there were previous reports where Lagway talked about never being on campus and taking remote classes, but it wasn't clear to me whose choice this was - Lagway's, his...

Florida isn't one of the 31 programs ESPN believes has a chance at the CFB Playoffs

Very interesting. And at the same time, the ESPN FPI gives Florida a 15.1 % chance to make the CFP.

Save College Act has been gaining steam

I agree with much of what you say. However, as I understand things about this bill (and I am not an attorney), the bill will actually grant the NCAA an anti-trust exemption which allows it to set caps. Congress has this authority and it will stand up in court. Collective bargaining comes after...

The new president is the ultimate DEI hire

Some thoughts on this hire in light of some recent news. In general, this whole process has been an embarrassment for University and anyone associated with it. I have no insight into whether Stuart Bell will be a good president for the University of Florida, but I don't think an endorsement from...

    Dead weight

i am not sure what the concern is here. Why are 26 commits too many? How do you know all 26 of these will eventually sign with Florida? How do you determine what "dead weight" is from players who have yet to play a down of college ball? You are probably forgetting about the transfer portal...

    Napier Interview

Napier analyzes his time at Florida..... Billy Napier reflects on Florida mistakes as he gets started at James Madison I don't know what else he said in this interview, and his self-assessment has some validity. He says he should have delegated more to staff, but the other problem was that...

CBS Sports SEC Football Game by Game Predictions

I like one line mentioned about Florida ... I think this holds for every new coach, so we should let the season play out and compare how the team looks near the end compared to the beginning, especially with so many new players. The other thing that I think is important is to see how the team...

We have a top 5 NIL

Actually, I recall reading an article some time ago that the SEC schools are actually trailing other schools, particularly in the Big 10, in NIL spending. And that's because there are very few SEC alumni that are ultra-rich, as in the billionaire category, and willing to spend on college...
