BIRGMINGHAM, Ala. The Southeastern Conference announced their weekly honors for week 14 games played, as Florida's Jonathan Greenard was named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in the Gators' 40-17 win over Florida State on Saturday night.

The nod marks Greenard's third SEC Player of the Week honor this season, marking the first Gator to earn as many SEC weekly honors since Max Garcia in 2014.

Greenard recorded six tackles for the second consecutive game on Saturday, including a season-high 3.0 sacks for a loss of 19 yards and a forced fumble on a sack in the Gators dominant victory over the Seminoles. The Hiram, Ga. native has been a vital part of a Gators defense that has allowed only 21 scores in 31 trips to the red zone this season, which includes just 12 touchdowns. The Gators have recorded 46 sacks on the season, its highest tally since recording 50 in 1997, as Greenard has accounted for 9.0 sacks on the year thus far.

In his last two games, Greenard has tallied 12 tackles, eight tackles for a total loss of 42 yards, five sacks and one forced fumble. Currently, Greenard is second on team in tackles (52), leading in tackles for losses (15.0 - total loss of 64 yards), while he leads the SEC in sacks with 9.0 for a loss of 49 yards.
