Mullen points out that after this Saturday, they'll have one more game in the Swamp until November.

They travel the last two weeks of September, home for LSU the first week in October then not back until November 3.

Fan thanks Mullen for having team sing the alma mater even after a loss and tells him it will not go unnoticed. It had not happened for a while.

Fan ask Mullen why the guys always do warmups in t-shirts and shorts.

Coach tells a story about how back in 2014 at Mississippi State, at 6:00pm during warmups there was a torrential downpour but Mullen knew it wasn't going to rain during the game. So he let the guys go out in t-shirt and shorts for warmups and just come in about 5 minutes earlier than normal. Then they came in, dried off, put on dry uniforms and Southern Miss (their opponent) was having to play in wet uniforms.

So he asked the leadership committee if they liked that and they said yes and he's had his teams doing it ever since. Said it gives guys time to get in fresh uniforms and one guy even had time to get a shower last week after warmups.

Mullen on his pre-game rituals:
-Go high five every player in the locker room
-Gather coaches
-Sneak into the tunnel to hear the National Anthem (since the team isn't on the field for it)
-Text his wife then puts his phone away
-Take a moment to pray
-Gives pre-game speech

Sue always coming through with the great stat research for her questions.

Ask Mullen how they're going to defend two CSU wide receivers (Williams and another) who have combined for 7TD's and 677 yards.

Mullen says they have to have great focus on stopping them not only early but the entire game because CSU and those receivers have helped them make the game close versus Hawaii in the 4th quarter and come back to win versus Arkansas.

"I want to be 50/50...but the game dictates how it plays out."-Mullen on pass/rush balance.

Mullen says team is still searching for leadership but it's because the whole entire team is still figuring out how this team clicks under a new staff. Says he see's with the willingness to lead, it's just a process.

Adds that there are some young guys that he see's with a lot of promise to be future leaders.

An afternoon game routine:

-One less walkthrough (there are two with an evening game)
-Less downtime in the room. It goes from 3 hours of downtime to 45 minutes.
-Still let's them sleep until 9am. Has them downstairs by 9:15 and they do a nature walk then come back for breakfast.
-They load up the bus and go to the IPF for a walkthrough
-They come back for downtime (for night games there are snacks available but not an afternoon game). There's a chapel going on during this time if guys want to attend.
-After downtime they come back for the pre-game meal, the menu of which never changes (but he doesn't share the menu)
-Then back upstairs to change into shirt and tie, load the bus, watch a highlight video, then off the bus to GatorWalk

Fan asks if Mullen will put numbers on the tshirts during warmups for fans that want to be in there early.

I endorse this question...but Mullen says he won't do it because other team has coaches that watch for notes. Says it's been a nice advantage and drives other teams nuts.

It also drives those in the press box nuts but I'll stop whining.

Fan comments that Mullen seems calm on the sidelines. He tells her it's because he's only been here two games & they haven't seen him the last 9 years. Admits that since he knows the officials, he'll try to get a flag sometimes to get the fans hyped up, a la a baseball manager.

Mullen says he was please with Feleipe's communication last week & lack of bad reads. Mentions the only thing he wasn't crazy about was Franks starting to force things towards the end of the game.

Adds he's been pleased with Franks communication during games b/c he needs to see what his QB is seeing.

Says he gets out of the way when big guys come down field but Feleipe has to stand there with four 300lb guys coming down on him. Calls it the hardest thing to do out there.

I hope someone ask him this question again next week but about a road game routine since next week will be the first road game at Tennessee
