I'll post some updates from today's open portion of practice.

It's kind of interesting because the track meet is using some portions of the outside fields.

Told the practice will be in the IPF today. Looks like rain is on way, plus the track meet is using some space on the outside fields.

It was 'on air' so don't get overly excited about it, but convert Dante Zanders made a nice long grab down the sideline.

From the first practice I attended (2/17) to today, the quarterbacks and receivers have improved tremendously in consistency and timing. That first practice, I saw plenty of drops to go around as well as some non-crisp routes.

Today, only one drop, throws had good timing and routes seemed a lot better. However, take it with a grain of salt- the throws were all on air. A lot of improvement to go, but some early bright spots

Post-practice press conference coverage from Cam.

KEARY COLBERT

Colbert on Justin Shorter: "That guy works his tail off. Sometimes I have to get him to slow it down because he always wants to get better. He's been a joy to be around and coach"

Says he's a great leader by example: "They'll (younger players) see that and that's the way to go"

Colbert on his transition from USC to UF: "It's been fun every single day and I'm excited for what's to come."

On the SEC competition, Colbert says being at a place like Florida helps prepare tremendously because the talent level is extremely high.

As far as who's going to start: "we're going to figure that out later."

Colbert also talked about Fenley Graham. Said he's impressed with how he's transitioned so far.

Graham Jr was still a defensive back when Colbert arrived, but Graham would joke and hint about playing WR, which helped lead to the position change

Colbert on Trent Whittemore returning: "He's been doing awesome the last couple of days. Obviously, he's a very smart player and works very hard. It's great to get him back out there."

VENTRELL MILLER

Miller on his injury last season: "Definitely it's always tough when you're injured."

Described it as a learning experience

On practices: Miller says that there's a lot more running around than previously

Miller says he and Amari Burney have a simple leadership style: "Just leading by example."

Miller on Patrick Toney's defense: "The less you have to think about the faster you get to play"

JUSTIN SHORTER

Shorter says he and Anthony Richardson work after practice often. Says his goal is always to be the last one to leave practice

Shorter on Keary Colbert: "I was very happy when we got him."

More about Colbert: "He's definitely teaching us to be quicker at the line."

Shorter says he wanted to be a sponge and soak up everything he can from him

Added Colber has helped him with the little things such as counting steps, etc.

Shorter on the decision to come back:

Says it was a long talk with his family, but the way the season ended, he feels he can do so much more
