This is the question that our AD has to answer and then react to.

That is a sobering look at where Florida stands, by the numbers.

As it stands right now, he is more like Richt. What makes people so frustrated is that he is not that far away, and if he could make some changes to the way he runs the program, he could do it. But he doesn't seem willing to make them, so, yeah, Richt is a pretty good comp.

The Mark Richt comparisons are so tired. If a coach doesn't win a title in 5 years: "oh he's Mark Richt!"

True. Richt won the SEC in his second year at Georgia, and won it again in his fifth year.

All people are different. The Richt comparison is becoming cliche. Remember when everyone used to say how Smart was Mark Richt?

Richt was a better recruiter but I think mullen is a better game day coach. The time is coming shortly where we have to accept what Dan is and what he isn't. AD will have to force other changes.

Richt won the SEC twice, the East five times and could recruit. Comparing Mullen to him is putting Richt down. The only thing that's comparable is they're winning percentage at UGA and FL.
"Most teams that are up there fighting for championships, they better be in the top five in the nation in recruiting" - Steve Spurrier, 2018
"We have to change the recruiting process somehow and make sure that us Gators are up there in the top five in recruiting, and that’s really how you go about that, having really super teams every year." - Steve Spurrier, 2019

We aren't winning a title for at least another 2 years and with the way this coming signing day is looking can probably say 3 years. Looking at another 8-4 season followed up with a probably top 15 recruiting class. Ain't getting any better than that.

Richt won it 5 times in how many years?

Mullen has it 1 time in 3 years and probably won't get it this year.

Won't get it this year and shows no promise of doing it in the future. His hand picked QB that he had groomed for 3+ years still looks like a freshman at times and cannot consistently throw the ball accurately past 8 yards.

We hope he can get to Richt's level.

People talk down on him like he was a bad coach but I looked it up in his first four years he was 42-10 won the east twice and finished in the top 6 three times.

I would love for Mullen to be like Richt.

Definitely successful, but to be fair, his first four or five years are where he had most of his success, before Meyer and Saban came on the scene. Never had as much success after that.

Times change, do we take anything away from Spurrier?

No. But it is worth mentioning, if only because Richt didn't change with the times, and that's they eventually cut ties with him.
