Grantham said it was great to be back in front of fans. It was like nothing they experienced last year. Thought the defense did a good job handling tempo and getting lined up. Playing a team week 1 they have all year to prepare for it and so you have to stick with your concepts and rules.

"When you can go into the fourth quarter not giving up points... that's a good thing."

On Zach Carter's game. His ability to set the edge and be stout in the run game were plusses for him. He was able to win one-on-one and those are the kinds of situations you are trying to create. He didn't play from the mid-third quarter on because they didn't need him to.

"We're going to play pressure pretty much a majority of the time." Obviously it will depend on the situation but playing tight makes the windows smaller. He thought they were fine in press coverage.

He said alignment is based on splits and calls in regard to some guys playing off while another plays press. It happens so you don't get rubbed or picked. So you have to have tools to play tight coverage without it happening.

Grantham said when guys can't get a rush due to getting the ball out quick, then that's when you need to get your hands up. Mentions the Gators technically had seven sacks in 38 attempts.

Grantham said he liked the way the secondary as a whole worked the game as far as understanding what was coming. They just have to continue to progress them because they're talented guys who need reps.

He thought the secondary could've been a little cleaner in facing stack formations. Also would like to see them not panic.

Grantham mentions for the secondary in general they didn't allow any explosive plays until about the fourth quarter. He's looking for guys to not give up explosive plays, challenging the ball and taking coaching on the sideline.

Grantham said they're not going to be a "bend don't break" style. They're going to challenge guys. He brought up how penalties extended drives on some third downs. They won the down but a penalty turned it into a double-digit play drive.

I asked Grantham about the CB spot opposite Kaiir Elam. He said they're going to rotate guys out there. No guy is really going to play 80 snaps a game. That way they can stay fresh.

The staff is going to work to teach Desmond Watson the techniques so he can come in and keep guys fresh early on in the game.

He liked the energy the transfer DTs brought. They flashed the ability to make some great plays. They'll be big in the rotation and they'll need for it to be their strength.

Also talks Jeremiah Moon. He was impressive in his edge rushes and has a knack for knowing where the ball is. He's a pleasure to have around.

Jones on watching film after the game: He could just tell it was his first start. He learned how hard the grind is, how detailed you have to be and how locked in you have to be every single play.

He wasn't really nervous going into the game. It was more about being comfortable out there. Looking back he had a lot of opportunities to do well. There's some stuff he left on the field. But he's glad for the opportunity to learn and he knows he has to be better.

"There were some things I didn't do well... detail-wise. That takes you a long way in games and playing quarterback... the whole performance could've been way better."

"That's like my literal brother and I've always had that kind of relationship with the quarterbacks that were ahead of me... I'm motivating him, locked in on the sideline." - on his relationship with Anthony Richardson.

On what it was being the guy on the other side of the reserve QB: Coming out and coming back in doesn't faze him much. He knew it was going to happen. In terms of how it will balance out, it could really change week-to-week. They usually tell them on the sideline before.

Jones said he just didn't some uncharacteristic things and he didn't feel like he looked very comfortable. He thinks it's easy to fix from week 1 to week 2 because there's just little things he can lock in on.

The journey's had a lot of ups and downs. He's seen guys do it the right and wrong way. It's been a long road for him but a great one.

He's seen a lot of QBs and said Richardson and Jones have a limit "beyond the sky."

Wells said his family preaches loyalty. They have a saying in his family "We're all we got. Loyalty and love." It comes from his cousin.

Wells said tempo is something they've been working on. The deep ball will come when it does. But they had production running ball. It's just about getting points on the board. The highlight of the night for him was Trent Whittemore getting a pancake block on a Dameon Pierce touchdown.
