On Saturday Highland Home (Ala.) 2025 linebacker Jakaleb Faulk visited Florida for the second time in the last four months. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder shared his thoughts on the visit, what the coaches had to say to him, and what he considered the highlight.
QUICK Q&A
Who came on the visit with you?
“The people who came on the visit with me were [2025 defensive end teammate] CJ May, his brother, and his brother’s wife.”
What was the day like as far as what all took place?
“I’m not sure what time we arrived, but it was an amazing day. I watched the practice, I went to the meetings and talked to a lot of coaches.”
What coach or coaches did you speak with the most and what is the Florida staff’s message to you at this point?
“I spoke with Coach [Jamar] Chaney, [Austin] Armstrong, and CJ Wilford. Their message to me was they think I am a valuable asset to Florida and they really want me.”
What was the highlight of the visit?
“The highlight of the day was that the coaches and people are really cool and they show a lot of love.”
What are your thoughts on the new football facilities?
“My thoughts on the new football facilities are that it was so cool and it was great overall, but it doesn’t matter about the facilities, what matters are the people in it.”
What are your thoughts about Florida after taking this visit?
“After the visit, I felt like they welcomed me with open arms and they made it feel like home to me. Florida stands very high on my recruitment board!”
It’s still early for you, but are there a couple of programs that you know will be there until the very end?
“Florida, Auburn, and Georgia will be there until the end. I thought about Alabama, but they don’t talk to me.”
Do you have any other spring visits planned or do you know when you’ll make it back to Florida?
“I don’t know where else I’m going to go visit and I’m not sure when I will make it back down there because my trainer has the dates.”
When it’s time for you to cut your list and start making a decision, what is going to be important to you?
“How stable is the coaching staff? What kind of people are there? Does it feel like home?”
Your brother was a Top 100 prospect who signed with Auburn in the last cycle. How much will his being a Tiger weigh on your decision?
“I am proud of my brother, but he always told me to go where I feel welcomed, so that’s what I’m going to do.”
As a sophomore Faulk recorded 80 tackles, 13 TFL, 1 sack, and 1 interception on defense while catching 16 passes for 356-yards and 4 touchdowns on offense.
Besides Florida, he also has offers from Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Oklahoma, Michigan, Southern Cal, and others.
