Class of 2024 Quick Q&A: Peach State athlete has Florida on top

After receiving an offer from Florida in late February, Nashville (Ga.) Berrien athlete Josiah Davis visited Gainesville last weekend. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder, who is coming up on 10 Power 5 offers, said that he has a clear cut leader early on.

QUICK Q&A

Who came with you on your visit to Florida and what was it like?
“My mom, aunt, and my homeboy. We were there the whole entire day. It was great.”

What are your thoughts on Florida’s new football facility?
“The new facility was great. I just love the way everything was in there.”


What was the highlight of the visit?
“The highlight of the day was talking to the coaches.”

What coach or coaches did you speak with the most?
“I spoke with Coach CJ [Quality Control Support Staff Member CJ Wilford] the most and we talked about fundamentals and player development.”

You’re listed as an athlete, but at what position is Florida recruiting you?
“The staff wants me to play safety, and that’s what I want to play.”

What was watching practice like?
“Practice was great and I interacted with Trevor Etienne.”

What are your impressions of new Florida Defensive Coordinator Austin Armstrong?
“Armstrong is great and I love his coaching style. He’s going to keep it real with you.”

Now that you’ve been to Florida, do you have any other spring visits scheduled?
“I’m going to see NC State [Friday], Ga Tech, USF, FSU, Kentucky, and Louisville.”

Do you have a return visit to Florida scheduled?
“I’m coming back for the spring game.”

What will be important to you when you make your decision?
“When make my decision I wanna make sure that I’m making a great one and that I find the right family.”

Where do you stand right now? Is there a couple of programs that you know will be there until the very end?
“I have a lot more visits to go. Florida is number one on my list right now, but I don’t if Kentucky or NC State will stay two or three.”
