Class of 2024 Quick Q&A: Instate lineman offered on visit

Entering Saturday, Clearwater (Fla.) Calvary Christian three-star offensive lineman Joseph Ionata held P5 offers from ACC programs Boston College, Duke and Miami.

Today, while visiting Florida, he added his first SEC offer.


Who did you visit with?
“I brought my mom, dad, and brother on the visit.”

How did the visit go as far as what did you do?
“During the visit we toured facilities, had meetings, and took a photo shoot.”

What was the coaches message to you?
“The coaches told me to just keep working and getting stronger and better.”

What was the highlight of the day?
“The highlight of the day was definitely the meeting with Coach [Billy] Napier when he offered me.”

What specifically did he have to say to you?
“Coach Napier said that I am a very talented football player who’s tough and finishes blocks extremely well. He said I have the ability to play along the offensive line and talked about how versatile I was. He mentioned how much of a great fit I would be for the culture and production of the team.”

What are your thoughts on the new facilities?
“Insane. Definitely, one of the best I’ve seen.”

Do you have any early leaders? Where does Florida stand right now?
“Florida is definitely a great school and program. They are definitely at the top of my list!”

Did you get a chance to meet up or interact with any current players? If so, who and what did they say to you?
“I’m friends with Roderick Kearney and we saw him and talked about the grind.”

What are your final thoughts on Florida?
“Florida is a great school and program and I will definitely be back.”
