Last week Florida joined Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and multiple other programs in offering Burlington (N.C.) Cummings four-star receiver Jonathan Paylor.

Though the 5-foot-9, 160-pounder grew up a fan of the Gators, he said he currently has another SEC program out in front for his services.

QUICK Q&A

Did you have a favorite college team (or player) growing up?
“The Gators were my favorite team when I was a kid due to their colors. But, I was a kid then.”

You have some impressive early offers, but is there one or two that really caught your attention? A ‘wow’ moment?
“Georgia offered kind of early, which surprised me.”

How did the Florida offer come about? Who did you communicate with and what did they have to say to you?
“I would hit up coach [Jay] Bateman and we would talk for hours about everything. Then, finally, he told me that I have an offer.”

What are your early impressions of Florida?
“My first impression of Florida is that they are in a really good spot in my recruitment and it’s in Florida.”

What are some of the visits you’ve already taken and did any stand out above the rest?
“I visited a lot of places such as Clemson, Alabama, North Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Ohio state, etc.. but my favorites were NC State and Alabama.”

Do you have any spring visits set?
“I do have visits to UNC March 4th and Clemson March 11th, and that’s about it so far.”

It’s still early, but do you have any leaders or are there a couple of programs that you know will be there until the very end for whatever reason?
“So far the leader is South Carolina.”

Paylor is the No. 154 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
