Florida offered Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville four-star receiver Mario Craver back at the end of January, and the 5-foot-9, 160-pounder took his first visit to campus over the weekend.

Who came on the visit with you?
“My older brother Alex and my younger brother Colin.”
What was the day like as far as what all took place?
“I got there at 9 a.m., and when I first got there we got a tour of the new facility and went to receiver meetings and I got the experience on how a normal practice day would go. After that we went to the photo shoot and I got to talk with Coach [Billy] Napier and Coach Deck [David Doeker].”
What coach or coaches did you speak with the most and what is the Florida staff’s message to you at this point?
“I spoke with Coach Deck the most and they tell me that they are building something special and if you want to be an elite student-athlete that Florida is the place to be.”
What was the highlight of the visit?
“The highlight of the visit was definitely seeing the team bounce around with intensity and seeing how a normal day of practice would go.”
What was it like taking a campus visit without a position coach in place? Did UF give you any indication as to who they are hiring?
“It was normal because I really don’t care about the wide receiver coach situation right now because as long as they are on the same page as Coach Napier I’m good. I’m not really picking the school for the coach, I’m picking the school for the school because position coaches can move year in and year out. They didn’t tell me about anyone who they could be hiring.”
What was it like to see practice? What were your impressions of it?
“It was nice. I loved the intensity and energy I saw today from the coaches and players. I did get to interact with current players.”
What are your thoughts on the new football facilities?
“I think that iT is very nice. What stood out to me was the recovery system they have for the players.”
What are your thoughts about Florida after taking this visit?
“I honestly fell in love with the Swamp and could definitely see myself there.”
Do you have any other spring visits planned or know when you’ll get back to Florida?
“I definitely will get back to Florida, but as of right now I don’t have any upcoming visits planned.”
Do you have any early leaders?
“No, there’s no early leaders, but Florida is definitely at the top of my list as of right now.”
What is DJ Lagway telling you about Florida?
“Lagway told me that he wants to bring 06′ and 08′ football back to Florida and he needs me to help him with that.”
Craver is the No. 198 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
