Inside the Gators asked Grill in the Ville attendees for their thoughts on Florida, the highlight of the day-long visit, and where they stand this early in their recruiting process.
- Four-star athlete Colt Lumpris
The highlight of the visit was getting to see campus during the competions which were really fun. The coaches really said the same thing, saying thank you for making it out and that I’m what they are looking for. It’s hard to narrow it down. Everyone is showing love to me. Florida stood out to me the way they provided a unique experience, which I found pretty awesome.
- Four-star linebacker Gregory Batson Jr.
The highlight of the visit was being able to bond with the other recruits. The coaches were familiar with my film and skill set and were very impressed with me. I definitely want to come back to a big game in the fall. Florida, FSU, and Georgia Tech are currently in the lead as far as having my attention.
- Unranked wide receiver Korden Randle
The highlight was the challenges and games that we played. I learned a lot in the film room, and it was good to finally meet Coach Deck [David Doeker]. Schools that have my attention are UF, FSU, USF, and UCF. All of them have shown great love through the process. I will be back in the fall for a game.
- Four-star defensive end Desmond Malpress
What stuck out to me was the way the coaches treated us like family and had fun with us. They said I have gotten bigger and would love for me to come back for a game this season. Schools that have my attention are Florida for sure. Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.
- Four-star edge Kalib Spivey (earned an offer from Florida)
The highlight of the visit to me was when they were introducing all the coaches, and they all had their own walk-up song, and all the other coaches were hyping them up. It just shows the kind of culture and brotherhood they are building in Gainesville. The coaches were telling me they loved my film, and they said how I grew and developed from my freshman year to my sophomore year. I’m planning on taking visits to Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Auburn in the fall. As of now, schools sticking out to me are Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss, and USC.
- Five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson
I think it was great for my first time. I got a chance to bring all my family here. My nieces loved it, so I love it. I’m all about my family. I learned a lot [about Florida], man. I didn’t know that stadium was actually that big. It seats a lot of people and gets loud. I got a chance to sit down and have a one-on-one talk with Billy [Napier]. It was great. The best conversation I probably had was talking ball. They really weren’t on my radar as far as some of the schools that I’ve visited. Since I’ve come here, they’ve definitely shot up a little bit. Going into the season, for me. Other than Florida, I would say Clemson, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Miami. They have a lot of interest in me, and I have an interest in them.
- Four-star offensive lineman Carter Jones (earned an offer from Florida)
The highlights were meeting all of the coaches that I had talked to over the phone and getting to compete and work with them at camp. Another highlight was receiving the offer from Coach [Billy] Napier. They really loved my performance at camp and my family! I will be coming back in late October for a game. Who’s sticking out to me is Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Penn State, Ohio State, UVA, and Virginia Tech.
- Three-star receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray
The highlight of the visit was the coaches all having good energy, and everybody just having a good time. The coaches said they love me and would love to have me back for a game, and also they loved my film, and they know I’m a good player. As of right now, I know for sure I’m hitting up like three UF home games this year. Schools that have my attention right now are definitely Florida, USC, Duke, Louisville, Georgia Tech, and also Indiana.
- Unranked receiver Jamal Robinson Jr.
The highlight of the visit to UF was my being in the meeting room, learning things I’ve never learned about the next level. The programs sticking out early on are the Florida Gators, Florida State, and Missouri.
- Four-star defensive lineman Deven Robertson
The UF coaches showed non-stop love, and the facility is nice. The Schools that are standing out right now are Notre Dame, Florida, LSU, Florida State, and Texas A&M.
- Unranked defensive lineman Drew Sapp
So I had a killer camp Friday night. Coach [Billy] Napier came over and watched a lot of my reps. Coach [Gerald] Chatman was really impressed with my technique in the drills and physicality in the 1v1. Coach Chatman said he was interested in me, and we exchanged contact information. Then, Coach Joe Hamilton walked over and said I impressed everyone, that he had a spot for me in Grill In the Ville on Saturday if I was interested. Grill in the Ville was awesome, UF is my school. It would be a dream to play there, and I’ll be working every day to do so. Coach Chatman also said he would come down to Lakeland and watch me play this season. It was a very humbling experience, I’m a lifelong Gator.
- Four-star linebacker Ja’Bios Smith
I loved the energy, the coaches, and they had good vibes. We played a couple of games, had a little linebacker meeting. They showed some highlights, and I talked to Coach [Robert] Bala. We’ve been chatting it up every two to three days.
- Four-star receiver Anthony Jennings
It was good to meet them in person, because they showed their interest in me. It was good to see that. It was good to show my face on campus. Coach Deck [David Doeker] for sure, and the receivers coaches [Billy Gonzales] were there today. Coach Deck was the one that’s been in contact with me. Coach Kaleb [Johnson] was the one who offered me. I’m not going to lie, right now they’re [Florida] No. 1. I’d probably say Tennessee, Miami, and Auburn are recruiting me hard. I just like how they played this past season. When I see the guys they brought in, and I see the scheme they have. They had Ricky Pearsall in the first round, so I see that as a receiver, and it looks good.
- Unranked athlete Ethan Hauser
A major highlight was that my entire family made it down for this trip, and we truly felt the love and hospitality of Coach [Vinnie] Sunseri and the entire UF staff! They took time with each of us individually and really made not only me but my family feel prioritized. The Coaches just continued to let me know that they are building something really great and that they want me there, they want me to be a part of it all. Schools standing out to me are UF, of course, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Bama, Miami, GaTech, and North Carolina, who recently offered me – and many more as well.
- 2028 receiver Xavier Bowman
The dance battle during the challenges stands out because the coaches really got in there with us. They said they were happy to have me as a [20]28 on campus with the top [20]27 recruits. They told me its the beginning of a long relationship. They liked my film and what me back on campus, and I hope and plan to be back for the Texas game this season. Standouts are definitely Florida after this visit, but before it was Clemson, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Florida State, and SMU.
- Four-star linebacker Roman Igwebuike
The highlight was definitely meeting the people. The staff was very well committed to me and my older brother. It was definitely different from all the other visits I’ve been on. It was way more entertaining. I definitely won’t forget this one. It’s definitely the best visit I’ve been on for sure.
