Although he still has three years of high school football remaining, Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles Class of 2028 defensive end Asher Ghioto already has an impressive of an early offer list as any prospect in the nation.

Heading into his sophomore campaign, the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder is already approaching 30 offers, with programs the likes of Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M having already pulled the trigger.

While back at Florida earlier this week for another unofficial visit, his father, Jason Ghioto, documented the trip for Inside the Gators. Then, Asher shared his thoughts in a post-visit Q&A session.

What was the highlight of the visit?
“I really enjoyed the meetings and learning the different formations, watching techniques, and watching practice and seeing it live was awesome. The vibe at Florida is awesome.”

What coaches did you speak with and what did they have to say to you?
“I spoke to Coach [Mike] Peterson, Coach [Gerald] Chatman, and Coach [Billy] Napier. They all said they were glad I was there and how I’m growing and getting big- we talked about plays and formations and then family stuff.”

Before recruiting, did you ever visit UF to see the campus or for a game? What school did you grow up following? Do you have family ties to any school?
“Before recruiting I had never been to campus. My grandad and my aunt went to school there. I grew up a Georgia fan and have been to many Georgia-Florida games. But, the Miami-UF game [last season] was my first in the Swamp!”

You have been to UF multiple times, did you learn anything new this time around?
“I always love being there. They treat me like family. I know [Hylton] Stubbs, Tramell Jones Jr., and Enoch Wangoy, so it’s good to see them when I come. I loved watching practice. This was my first practice, so watching the coaches coach was really something I was excited about. Coach Peterson and Coach Chatman really have a lot of fire and energy, and I love that. I like being coached hard and they definitely bring that to practice. Coach Napier’s talk before practice was really good.”

What’s next regarding any upcoming visits?
I have a few trips lined up. I will be in Michigan this weekend and then Miami, FSU, UGA, and UNC. I went to Oklahoma last week. It’s early for me, so I’m just enjoying learning about programs.”

It is still incredibly early for you, but where does UF stand with you right now? Is there a top five or top 10?
“I love UF and I definitely have them as a top school. I don’t have a top 10 yet, but if I did they would be in it There are a few more schools I want to see, but UF is in the top for sure.”
