Inside the Gators asked Florida commitments and targets for their thoughts on the Gators’ 32-20 loss to No. 2 Georgia. Find out what 11 targets, including four-star commit Jalen Wiggins, and targets Jahari Medlock and Matthew Lefeau as well as others, thought of the game.
- 2025 four-star defensive line commit Jalen Wiggins
I think they played a great game. Injuries prevailed throughout the game in the long run, but the defense really showed up to stop them.
- 2025 three-star offensive line target Jahari Medlock
They played incredible against Georgia. How well the players played and react to things shows me how well they’re coached.
- 2025 four-star commit Vernell Brown III
I think we played really well. Unfortunately, Lagway went down, but I think we played really good.
- 2026 four-star defensive end Jarius Rodgers
They fought very hard and played amazing on defense
- 2026 three-star offensive line target Mike Ionata
This shows that they can hang in there with anyone. Having the lead for a while and keeping it a competitive game until the end is very impressive.
- 2026 offensive lineman JJ Sparks
I was at the game with my dad and I thought the Gators played a good game and still had a chance late in the game even with all the injuries. The offensive line played hard against probably the best front seven in the country. They opened run lanes and did a good job protecting the quarterback. The unit, and team, have been playing good ball since the first bye week.
- 2026 four-star receiver Somourian Wingo Jr.
I think the Gators started off strong on both sides of the ball, but as injuries occurred it affected the team and slowed them down against a really good Georgia football team.
- 2027 unranked tight end Grant Haviland
I thought Florida played really well through a lot of adversity. I believe the tight ends got a couple of catches which was good to see.
- 2026 four-star defensive end Elijah Golden
They played pretty well! They had a great start and first half. The defensive line had two sacks.
- 2025 JUCO offensive lineman Matthew Lefeau
I really thought that the Gators started off strong offensively and defensively, but that started to wear off going into the second half. I feel like the Gators threw a lot of blades and flats that Georgia was ready for but overall I think it was a great game and would’ve been nice if the Gators won and made a statement.
- 2025 walk-on long snapper commit Mack Mulhern
I thought it was a great game with unfortunate injuries I think that the special teams had a pretty good game.
