Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee School three-star athlete Trey Horne entered his Tuesday visit to Florida with over 20 offers. Before leaving campus the 6-foot-3, 190-pound speedster added another from the Gators.

QUICK Q&A

You have some impressive early offers, but is there one or two that really caught your attention? A ‘wow’ moment?
“Definitely. When I started getting some Power 5 offers I was like, ‘wow’. Like my first one, when I got Kentucky, it was surreal and since then my mind’s been blown by some of the opportunities presented.”

How did the Florida offer come about? Who did you communicate with and what did they have to say to you?
“Coach [Billy] Napier actually offered me today [Tuesday] on my visit. My family and I were in his office and we were just talking about all the great things UF has to offer and just getting to know each other. And then he offered me!”

You’re listed as an athlete, but at what position is Florida recruiting you?
“They offered me as a receiver.”

Florida doesn’t currently have a coach at that position. What did they tell you?
“They are looking to hire outside or maybe within, but Coach [David] Doeker is still going to be there helping out with the receivers.”

What is your thoughts on Florida’s new football facility?
“The facilities are great. I was blown away by everything, it’s unmatched.

What was the highlight of your visit?
“My highlight was probably when we were watching some guys lift and all the strength coaches, players, and other coaches were coming in talking to me and my family and explaining how they do things. It really just stuck with me because it was them showing interest in me.”

What are your overall early impressions of Florida?
“Florida was great! The people there definitely stood out to me the most. The players went out of their way to talk to my parents and me and it’s something you don’t see much at other schools. I was definitely blown away by my visit today! Florida is definitely one of my top schools.”

What are some of the visits you’ve already taken and what do you have coming up?
“I actually visited FSU yesterday [Monday] and I will be at GT on the 13th, VT on the 16th, UVA on the 18th, and Wake Forest on the 28th. But I got a few schools I’d like to get to and I’ve got to adjust my schedule this spring and see which dates work best.”

Do you have a return visit to Florida scheduled?
“I’m not 100% positive when I will be back but I will be back!”

What is your recruiting timeline like?
“I want to get out to some of these schools this spring and start narrowing it down but as of right now, it is too soon. I also want to take my officials this summer and I’ll make a decision before next season.”

What will be important to you when you make your decision?
“Definitely an education I want to be able to go and get a job anywhere whenever I’m done playing football. Also, a coaching staff that keeps it real with me and does not try to give me a sales pitch.”
