Inside the Gators asked Florida commitments and targets for their thoughts on the Gators’ 27-24 win over No. 7 Texas. Find out what commits and targets, including Jackson Ballinger, Ty Winn, and Jaxon Flowers, as well as others, thought of the game.

2028 offensive lineman John O’Dwyer

“I thought the Gators played with a lot of heart and toughness. Beating a top-10 team like Texas shows what this team is capable of when everyone buys in and plays together. On the offensive line, I was impressed with the physicality and how the guys battled in the trenches. This is a big win to build on, and I’m excited to see what’s next for the Gators!”

2028 four-star tight end Braxton Rein

“Big win against a really good team. I liked seeing the tight end get a touchdown.”

Four-star offensive line commit Peyton Miller

“Great win on the road against a ranked team. People have been saying they can’t come from behind, but here you go.”

Three-star tight end commit Jackson Ballinger

“I thought they showed tons of resilience and toughness in that win. They have to be able to keep that consistently, though. I thought Lacota [Dippre] had a great game with those two crucial touchdown catches. I am enjoying watching the TEs get better and better each week!”

2029 four-star offensive lineman Landon Ghea

“It’s impressive! Shows a lot of grit and team focus to bounce back. You can see that with how the coaches and the players lead.”

2028 four-star offensive lineman Ty Winn

“I’m not gonna lie, I definitely was watching the game because it was playing before Georgia’s game, so I got a chance to sit and watch most of it and saw the comeback and was very impressed! Texas isn’t an easy team to beat. Florida struggled in the beginning, but had a nice comeback. The offense was solid to me; they definitely played better during the second half.”

2028 offensive lineman Cooper Martenson

“They looked great. Amazing pass protection, only allowed one sack, and the O-line looked super physical.”

2027 three-star athlete Jamarion Hillsman

“It was a great win for the Gators to get back on what they were doing in the earlier part of the season and to continue being special. I feel like Tramell Jones Jr. stepped up in a huge way to get them that victory.”

2028 four-star athlete Jaxon Flowers

“Tramell [Jones Jr.] got his chance to shine. He’s from Jacksonville, so I watched him play in high school. It’s crazy to now seeing him play against Texas. He came ready to play… I’m proud of my boy! The defense brought pressure ALL day against Arch [Manning]. They looked like the team I saw play against Ole Miss.”

2027 longsnapper commit Jaydee Lane

“It was the best way the team could’ve responded. Of course there were mistakes, but overcoming adversity and pushing through allowed the team to come out on top.”

2028 four-star cornerback Izayah Vickers

“I think it was a great win for the Gators and a great bounce back after the back to back losses.”

2029 four-star defensive lineman Tatum White

“I wasn’t able to make it to the game, but I was keeping up with it. That was a big win against a top 10 team. I liked how the defense played. That strip sack by Myles Graham was big too. They kept fighting and made plays when they needed to. It was a good win for Florida for sure.”
