How on earth did the defense change so much? That was a totally different squad on the field. I was impressed with Philo but knew there was a ceiling to what we were going to get. @TramellJonesJr gives an added dimension with his athleticism 🤷🏿♂️ #GoGators

Thoughts on the Gators:
— Frank Frangie (@Frank_Frangie) October 17, 2026
* Wow. Again, wow. College football. Go figure.
* Just got boat-raced by two ordinary teams. Then got down 17-3 on the road to a ticked off Top 10 team. In front of 100,000 fans. And you don’t have your quarterback, best receiver, backup running back.…
“O line played better on this game, not going to lie O line hasn’t been playing good.” said Sumrall.
— Jordyn Banks (@Jordynbanks01) October 17, 2026
'Our guys fought today,' #Gators coach Jon Sumrall said. 'We showed a lot of character, a lot of growth.'
— Edgar Thompson (@osgators) October 17, 2026
Incredible comeback for @gatorsfb, who get Manning strip-sack and fumble, only need one first down to close out game.
— Eugene Frenette (@GeneFrenette) October 17, 2026
Today was the 1st true road win for @GatorsFB over an AP top 10 team since 2012 number 10 Florida State.
— Cole Cubelic (@colecubelic) October 17, 2026
The Gators with 24 unanswered points. Owning 2nd half time of possession. Ground game rolling. Offense looking like it did early in the season. Jones legs at QB has been so HUGE. WOW!
— David Pollack (@davidpollack47) October 17, 2026
What an incredible win by Florida this is going to be (if my gamecast is correct). Hell of a win for Sumrall. I don't know how good Texas really is – but shouldn't matter to Florida.
— Brent Martineau (@BrentASJax) October 17, 2026
Jesse, there’s no controversy.
— Andy Staples (@AndyStaples) October 17, 2026
The dude who beat Texas needs to start against Georgia.

Jon Sumrall has two top 10 wins in four weeks at Florida.
— Bryan Fischer (@BryanDFischer) October 17, 2026
Billy Napier had three such wins in four years in Gainesville.
Jones heating up at QB for Florida- He made a nasty 4th down play with 50 seconds left in half and has been in a groove. 17-17 in Austin. Gators with 14 straight.

What a win! Culture may not be fully instilled yet but these coaches and players have shown the fight the Florida fans questioned. Still a long way to go for this team, staff and program but as I said earlier this week, I believe we are on a great path!…
