Here are five Florida Gators that are in the spotlight, and on the spot, to perform this week against Auburn.

VERNELL BROWN III

Brown has been lights out the first two games of the season. He has recorded nine catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns, along with two punt return touchdowns. He scored three touchdowns in last week’s victory over Campbell. Fans will be watching to see if he can produce against an SEC opponent like Auburn.

AARON PHILO

Philo has had two quality games to start his Florida career. He has tallied 517 passing yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. He has also scored a rushing touchdown in each of his first two starts. That being said, a road game in the SEC will be challenging for a young quarterback. He will be under fire the second he makes a mistake this weekend against Auburn. If he doesn’t produce as people expect, you will definitely be hearing about it from the fans.

MYLES GRAHAM

Graham has totaled 16 tackles (8 solos) and 0.5 sacks so far this season. In his media availability this week, he was excited to be starting SEC play. He also said that you can feel the intensity level rising in the building. Graham is one of, if not the main leader of this Florida defense. He needs to be on for the defense to perform like they need to.

JADAN BAUGH

Baugh has picked up right where he left off at the end of last season. Through two games, he has 28 carries for 296 yards and five touchdowns. He has had a touchdown of 60+ yards in each of his first two games. With this being Philo’s first SEC game, the offense will be relying on Baugh to have another dominant performance. We all know that Baugh is one of the best backs in the nation, but can he keep his hot streak going at Auburn?

JAYDEN WOODS

Yes. I have Jayden Woods here again. In his first two games, he’s logged nine total tackles (5 solos) and 0.5 sacks. He made his presence known more so against Campbell last week. Like I’ve said before, he had a sack goal of 12.5 going into the season. He has yet to perform at the expected level and has a lot riding on his shoulders going into conference play. He and LJ McCray need to be on their game in the pass rush to give Florida an edge.

PREDICTION

Alvis: Auburn 24, Florida 21

  1. I don't think pass rush is the issue this week. I think they want us to be aggressive on pass rush so Brown can run right by us. We need to have a plan to keep Brown stationary.

Brown couldn't do that much against that last year.

I'm worried about our offense more than I'm worried about theirs.

If they can't run the ball, I'll feel better about defense.

At any rate, this game is going to be fascinating.
