Florida head coach Billy Napier met with the media on Monday for a look back at the loss to No. 3 LSU and ahead to this week’s matchup against No. 4 Miami.

BILLY NAPIER

  • Billy Napier’s opening statement: “We were physical, tough, we were aggressive, our kicking plan worked.” “Not enough points and penalties were a factor.” “We are really, really close, and we need to play with more consistency with offense.”
  • Napier on team roster: “A lot of our team is excelling at a high level. If we were able to get back in our rhythm offensively, we could do better and be tough to go against.”
  • On DJ Lagway: “In general conceptually, I think a week of prep and continuing to coach in the practice environment. I know where it is, with missing some of the spring and fall camp.”
  • Napier on Caleb Banks, “He reinjured his foot, and in general it was great for him to back out there. We will report on injuries Wednesday.” (When told that there would be no injury report on Wednesday, and asked if Banks’ injury was something that would be long-term, Napier said yes).
  • Napier: “This team still has potential to be dangerous.”
