To this point, Florida has been hit-and-miss when it comes to signing players out of the Transfer Portal. The Gators have brought in some difference makers (O’Cyrus Torrance,, Elijhah Badger, Chimere Dike), starters (Graham Mertz and Montrell Johnson Jr. come to mind), as well as several key contributors, but overall, there haven’t been all that many ‘wow’ signees – maybe just one (Ricky Pearsall).

Will that change with this year’s Portal additions?

We count them down from 5-to-1 based on the impact we expect them to have in the Orange…

  1. There are some busts like Jack Miller and Mazzucca.

    But we have had good evals like with McClain, Banks and Zamdella. They are close to being what you call wow transfer signees.

    Bridges, Cam Jackson, Crenshaw-Dixon and Houston are starting transfer signees.

    The list of very good transfer players is longer than you make it out to be.
