One of the hottest prospects instate is Sarasota (Fla.) Sumner wide receiver Tyler Williams. In the last two weeks alone he has picked up offers from the likes of Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Texas A&M.

Over the weekend the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder reunited with high school teammate, UF 2024 signee, Greg Smith III while on campus for the Gators’ Jr. Day.

QUICK Q&A

What was the highlight of your visit today?
“The highlight of my visit was most definitely receiving the offer from Coach [Billy] Napier.”

Which coaches did you speak with the most, and what did they have to say to you?
“I spoke with Coach [Chad] Lucas and Coach Billy G [Gonzales]. They really liked my game and said they love me as a person and really want me to be a part of the program.”

Is there anything new you learned about the Gators today that you didn’t know before? If so, what?
“I learned more about the academic side of the Gators and how they push their athletes to be more than just athletes.”

What is the most impressive thing you saw either on a tour of the campus or during one of the presentations? What really stood out?
“The welcomeness of the staff was very nice and appreciated.”

How do you feel about Florida after visiting today?
“Florida is very high on my list.”

It’s still early for you, but do you have any leaders or a leaderboard?
“Not yet, but Florida is part of the top choices.”

Did you get a chance to speak with any of the players, if so, who and what did they say to you?
“Yes, I talk with Greg [Smith III] all the time. He is my best friend, so I always have the inside view of the program from him.”

What other visits do you have coming up in the next month or so?
“I’m not too sure yet, but I will be going all over.”

Williams is the No. 494 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
