Evaluating the Class of 2023 Transfers: There’s only one A

The Gators’ 2023 Transfer Portal class of 13 signees arrived with mixed reviews and a fair amount of intrigue.

As you would expect from newcomers, they’ve been a mixed bag so far. Some of them have played a lot, while others have been used sparingly. Some look like future stars, while others make you scratch your head and wonder what the coaching staff saw in them. Of course, some are still completely unknown.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, before our attention turns to the 2024 Transfer Portal season, here is our assessment of the 2023 transfer class…

    Pearsall. Torrence, Mertz and Johnson.

    The rest could have stayed where they were and we could have played freshmen and been better off for the future.

    For a guy that everyone says is an elite talent evaluator it doesn’t appear true.
