  1. College football recruiting is coaching hell. First, I think re-classifying costed UF this commit. No way was he going to beat out Lagway and I never understood why he would want to put himself in that position. The one way this could help UF is that there will be a QB exodus from Ol'Miss in the fall. It was smart on the part of two people, Kiffin, and Simmons so congrats to both. UF will be fine. There are several announcements coming up that they should benefit from.
  2. This is unfortunate news. Comparing the 2 qb rooms this is a strange decision by Simmons.
Why? They have a ton of upperclassmen in the quarterback room. He can come in and learn from them, and really feel no pressure to have to contribute. And then next year the path is wide open for him.
  3. After the Rashada and Simmons debacles, Florida should forget about adding a Class of 2023 quarterback and just move on. In 20 years of doing this, I don't know that I have ever seen two as big of embarrassments at one position in one class as has happened this year.

Howard has 4 years of eligibility, they have an elite 11 qb committed this year. It’s not like they’re just holding the spot for him. More competition than he would have had here by numbers.
  5. You knew this was going to happen. You would like for a head coach to be a little more mature, but hey, to the victor goes the spoils. He has earned the right to respond how he sees fit.

You have to wonder though how many chances at better jobs has he lost out on because of things like this. What serious AD wants a troll as the face of his football program?

Ole miss for about 6 million per year apparently 🤣
Kiffin not at Tennessee is enjoyable now.
  6. Makes zero sense. Sign with us and he has one QB to contend with; go to Ole Miss and he has multiple including an Elite 11 from this year and last year. Oh well, I guess he had more NIL money offered in Oxford than Hogtown.

If I were an OlMiss fan I would be loving Kiffin. He reminds me of Spurs. Everyone hated him too, but he just kept backing it up on the field.

True, but after fall practice there will be a portal full of Ol Miss QB's to pick from. IMO, Simmons wasn't going to play much next season and he wasn't going to best Lagway either. I'm surprised stayed committed as long as he did. UF was screwed at QB position when the Rashada deal broke down. I also you you're guessing right about NIL money.
  9. I'm not sure what the competition quote from Mr. Simmons is referring to.

Is there anyone who believes Florida's quarterback room is anywhere near as talented as Ole Miss's either this year or next?

    Florida
    Graham Mertz JR
    Jack Miller SO
    Max Brown FR
    DJ Lagway (Commit #29)

    Ole Miss
    Jaxson Dart JR
    Spencer Sanders SR
    Walker Howard FR
    Austin Simmons FR
    Desmond Williams (Commit #302)

Agree, and there will be other Portal opportunities.

From what I've read Dart has all but a lock on QB1, and with Simmons showing up now, there will be a couple of QB's at Ol Miss shopping around.
