Earlier this week Florida offered Georgia legacy tight end Ryan Ghea. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound four-star prospect has already visited Florida and plans to do so again this summer.

QUICK Q&A

Did you have a favorite college team (or player) growing up? If so, who and why?
“Georgia, because my dad went there.”

Out of your early offers is there one or two that really caught your attention? A ‘wow’ moment?
“I’m just honored that colleges believe in me, so they are all important.”

What would happen if Georgia were to offer?
“Georgia would be a huge offer for me.”

How did the Florida offer come about? Who did you communicate with and what did they have to say to you?
“Last year [William] Peagler invited me to a camp. I went and did well. They came to a lot of my games to watch me play last year. They like my size and how versatile I am. The offer came from Coach [Russ] Callaway. He offered and we talked about the process of my recruiting and things I can keep working on to get better.”

What are your early impressions of Florida?
“My impressions are I love the culture and what they are building there.”

Your former high school teammate Bryce Thornton signed with Florida in the last cycle.
“Bryce loves Florida, he is happy there. He said it feels like he gets pushed hard to be the best.”

Have you visited any college campuses yet? If so, where and what were a couple of your favorite visits?
“I have visited Florida, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, UNC, Virginia Tech, NC State, South Carolina, Vandy, Ole Miss, TN, Louisville, Georgia, Wisconsin, and more. Clemson, PSU, ND, Wisconsin, Auburn, UNC, NC State, and VT all were impressive.”

Do you have any plans to see any schools over the summer?
“My dad and I are trying to figure it out soon.”

Will you make a trip to Florida?
“Yes, I will be headed back to Florida this summer.”

It’s still early, but do you have any leaders or are there a couple of programs that you know will be there until the very end for whatever reason?
“Not yet. I’m still meeting others.”

What’s going to be important to you when you make your choice?
“Just trying to take it all in and see as much as I can. The most important is going to a place I can play, and get a strong education. A tight-end school that uses 12 personnel.”

Ghea is the No. 241 ranked prospect in the nation according to the On3 Consensus.
